John Holstead is a sculptor and writer based on the Dingle Peninsula in Co. Kerry. He draws on a lifetime's experience in engineering, carpentry and design to create sculpture in a variety of media. His recent solo exhibitions which draw on scientific and mathematical concepts to create work in a variety of traditional and new media have garnered considerable critical acclaim. John was commissioned to design and create the inaugural Gregory Peck Award for the Dingle Film Festival which was presented to actor Gabriel Byrne in September 2008.
